Peeters Presents on the Quit Line During Statewide Event on Youth Vaping

UW-CTRI Regional Outreach Specialist Alex Peeters presented during E-cigarettes and Our Youth: Partners in Prevention, an event held last week at Northcentral Technical College, in the Professional Development Conference Center in Wausau. Peeters gave a general overview of the Wisconsin Tobacco Quit Line and the services it offers callers, including those who vape, smoke, and/or chew tobacco. She also discussed other resources available to youth including the “This Is Quitting” mobile app by the Truth Initiative; “quitSTART” mobile app by SmokeFree.gov; and the texting program SmokeFreeTxt for Teens. The event, including Peeters’ presentation, was streamed live by WisconsinEye.

The Quit Line is funded by the Wisconsin Tobacco Prevention and Control Program and is promoted by statewide and local partners throughout the state.
