Kaye speaks at Badgers On Tap

UW-CTRI Assistant Professor Dr. Jesse Kaye was one of three UW experts who presented to the community at a program called Badgers On Tap. These events are held in pubs, breweries, bars and other venues. A typical event includes 2-3 flash talks, Q&A, bingo and trivia.
Jesse and colleagues presented about cannabis use. The talk, “Weeding Out the Facts,”
included ways to identify Cannabis Use Disorder. He discussed how to reduce stigma and various treatments such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), contingency management and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).
He shared how cannabis is associated with increased odds of heart problems, stroke, and cardiovascular mortality. He coached attendees on how to use person-first language to reduce stigma for people who use cannabis.
