The Avenues Study is recruiting people in Milwaukee and Madison who both smoke and vape for a research study trying different avenues to quit smoking – avenues that may or may not include quitting vaping at the same time.
Ads in Milwaukee went up in three bus shelters, including one next to the Fiserv Forum (home of the Milwaukee Bucks), which is also across the street from the technical college and down the block from Aurora Sinai. The ads also are featured on the outside of three buses and in more than 40 spots inside various buses. They ran through the month of March.
The Avenues Study also placed an ad and article in Healthy Start magazine, a Milwaukee publication created by the Milwaukee Community Journal. Their website reaches 270 different people per day, and the printed publication is distributed free to Milwaukee churches, schools, and clinics in predominantly Black communities.
