Dr. Michael Fiore presented “Unfinished Business” at the American Thoracic Society Meeting in San Francisco.
Dr. Lynn Schnapp, the chair of the UW Department of Medicine, introduced Fiore’s talk.
Fiore discussed effective policies to promote tobacco cessation, including increasing the price via taxes, smokefree policies, media campaigns, the Affordable Care Act, and FDA regulation.
He talked about the promise of the proposed menthol ban and very-low nicotine cigarettes to help the nation break free from tobacco addiction.
