Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the UW-CTRI Smoking Cessation and Prevention Clinic (SCPC) stopped offering in-person appointments and group counseling to people seeking to quit smoking. Now, to maximize Center resources, those services will no longer be offered after the pandemic ends.
To quit smoking, chewing or vaping tobacco, please call the Wisconsin Tobacco Quit Line at Call 800-QUIT-NOW or try one of our research studies.
The SCPC, led by UW-CTRI Director of Clinical Services Dr. Doug Jorenby, helped hundreds of patients to quit smoking, including Neil (left).
The clinic also served as a tremendous training opportunity for UW students from a variety of healthcare disciplines, many of whom have gone on to provide quality care based on their experience.
Importantly, the clinical area at UW-CTRI’s main office at 1930 Monroe St. in Madison will continue to operate for UW-CTRI research studies.
Patients who are interested in quitting smoking can call the Wisconsin Tobacco Quit Line at Call 800-QUIT-NOW 24/7 or try one of UW-CTRI’s evidence-based treatment studies.
