The Cancer Center Cessation Initiative (C3I) was launched by the National Cancer Institute as part of the Cancer Moonshot program to help cancer centers build and implement sustainable tobacco cessation treatment programs to routinely address tobacco cessation with cancer patients. 52 cancer centers were funded in three successive cohorts from 2017-2021.
