Rutgers researchers reported seeing Hyde nicotine strips for sale in a New Jersey vape shop. They’re also available virtually everywhere from various vendors online.
They are similar to previous nicotine strips from other tobacco companies which were removed from the market in 2020 by the FDA.
These flavored strips dissolve quickly on the tongue or roof of the mouth, providing a hit of 2 mg nicotine. They come in the following flavors:
- Cinnamon
- Citrus
- Cool Mint
- Spearmint
- Watermelon Ice
- Wintergreen
Sold in a box like a pack of gum, they are marketed as discreet and easy to use. Researchers and clinicians said they are noting the re-emergence of these nicotine products, given their youth appeal and misuse potential.
