Taylor Pinkerton is a UW-CTRI health counselor working on the Withdraw from Tobacco Study as well as the Options Study.
Pinkerton views health education as really exciting.
“You can impact the lives of so many people with smoking cessation.” She has never been a regular smoker, but said “my whole family smokes. I’m sure passively it will improve my family’s outcomes.”
Before arriving at UW-CTRI, she worked at UW Health as a health unit coordinator, doing a lot of scheduling and other communication between the care team and patients. She also worked as a certified nursing assistant and has some training in motivational interviewing. She graduated in December 2020 from UW with a bachelors’ degree in health promotion and equity.
Originally from Chetek, Wisconsin, she is an avid reader, “mostly of fantasy and romance but, once in a while, I’ll mix in something educational.”
