Jenna Dwyer is a Tobacco Care Manager for the Breaking Addiction to Tobacco for Health 2 Study (BREATHE 2) at Advocate Aurora Health.
Dwyer previously served as a research and program assistant at UW-CTRI for the first BREATHE Study. she graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2018 and worked for two years at Medical College of Wisconsin as a research assistant (in pediatric surgery and maternal-fetal research). In her new role, she’ll spend about 80 percent of her time speaking via phone with BREATHE 2 patients.
For the first project of BREATHE 2, called “Cessation,” case managers serve as key contacts for Aurora/UW Health patients interested in participating in the study and quitting smoking. They help participants throughout their journey, easing the time burden of other healthcare staff at Aurora/UW Health. For BREATHE 2 Project 2, aka “Reach,” they will offer guidance to participants and check in to see how they are doing.
Dwyer said she is passionate about spending time in nature, psychology, and cultivating high-quality relationships. In her free time, Jenna enjoys hiking and gardening (anything to be outside), DIYing home renovations, indoor cycling, spending time with her fiancé Evan and other friends/family and playing with her shiba inu pup, Nox!
