- UW-CTRI Research Director Dr. Megan Piper was a guest expert for NPR on the radio program “All Things Considered.” She was asked to comment on a study that examined psychedelics to quit smoking cigarettes. The show has an estimated audience of 14.7 million listeners, according to NPR, and is routinely considered one of the three most popular radio programs. To read about it and listen, click here. The New York Post then picked up the story, reaching an additional 10.9 million viewers. A website called The Microdose wrote about it as well, reaching their 1,400 followers.
- UW-CTRI Associate Director Dr. Tim Baker spoke with Medscape about a new paper in JAMA Open Network, “Rate of Pharmacotherapy for Tobacco Smoking Cessation in Patients With New Peripheral Artery Disease.” UW-CTRI Founding Director Dr. Michael Fiore and UW Cardiologist Dr. Jim Stein were co-authors. Medscape reaches approximately 5 million viewers each month.
